The
Trust’s plans for
Hartlebury Castle
include running an exciting programme of concerts each
year. The Great Hall at the Castle has been widely used for
concerts in the past and is much loved as a concert venue.
Such distinguished musicians as John Lill and Emma Johnson
have performed there.
The Saloon
too is suitable for certain music, particularly chamber
music. It is a beautiful room, which will enhance the beauty
of the music. In one performer’s experience
“there are very few rooms better suited to
the performance of chamber music.”
One choir,
which regularly used the Castle for performance in the past
writes: “The professional singers
and instrumentalists we have engaged have always remarked on
the exceptional acoustics and atmosphere in the hall”
The plan
is to ensure that our concert programme includes
opportunities for both professionals and amateurs to
perform. We are keen to hear from individuals and groups
(including schools) who may be interested in being included
in what we hope will be an eclectic programme with something
to interest everyone. Contact us
In
addition to the concert programme which the Trust will
organise private hirers be able to hire the rooms for their
own performances.
We shall
also be seeking to hold occasional Master-classes for
musicians.
We
anticipate that a loyal and appreciative audience will
quickly be built up and that, once again, Hartlebury Castle
will resonate with the sound of beautiful music.
We would
appreciate hearing from you if you have an interest in being
included in any programme of concerts which we plan.
Obviously until the Trust is approved to acquire the Castle
these programmes remain draft only, but we feel this is
important so that they can be put into place quickly if we
are successful.
