The Trust
has been formed with the express intention of preserving
this wonderful building and its surroundings which has
been left to this generation by all those who have preceded
us.
Walk
around and through this beautiful place and it is easy to
see how the unique
Hurd Library,
exquisite Georgian Chapel, the Elizabethan Walk, the moat
and pools, the magnificent Mediaeval Great Hall, elegant
Saloon and splendid Prince Regent’s bedroom all have
something to tell us about many different periods in
history.
We believe
that it can also be a place for the present and the future.
With careful conservation and restoration of neglected
areas, especially in the
grounds and
gardens, the
Trust anticipates that once again, as in the past, these
places will provide many uplifting, exciting, inspiring as
well as tranquil moments for visitors,
Indoors,
the Trust’s plans would ensure that the rooms, in addition
to being open to visitors to enjoy, will be used to bring
together people who enjoy music and the other arts.
We want to
ensure that there are opportunities for people to find out
more about this place and the life and times of its people
and to become actively involved in preserving this valuable
part of Worcestershire’s heritage.
